Supernova

Then, It had finally hit us. Although we knew it was going to happen the entire time, it still came to us in shock. A bleary and intensely heated shock. I assume that you're thinking that this makes no sense whatsoever, but don't worry, it will soon. Let me introduce myself, my name is Natalie Sidnal. It all started as a simple day at school. I walked to school with my best friend, Johanna Revilod. She always walks to school with me, or she would end up taking the bus while I walk and we meet at school. When we got to school today, she asked me “Hey Natalie, did you see that bright star last night?” “Yeah, that was amazing.” I said, noticing my other friends, Hail and Simon, about 10 feet away from us. Eventually, I saw Johanna regarding the fact that they were there as well. We went to go chat with them, “Hey Johanna, hey Natalie” said Hail and Simon, near the same time. “Hey, I was just asking Natalie if she had gotten the chance to see that miraculously bright light in the sky last night, I think it was a star. Did you guys get the chance to see it?” Just that second, the first class bell struck in such a way I nearly collapsed in indecisiveness of what the noise was. Soon after this, my senses kicked into place and I figured out the sound was the 1st class bell. Somehow in this period of time, everyone had left me and gone into school for the first class. I glanced at my watch and figured out it was already 2 minutes after classes had started. I ran for the door, with the thought in my head that it was going to end up being open. I got to it and it was locked. “NOOOOOOO!” I howled so loud, I would bet it had broken a window or something. I was starting to get worried, due to the fact that when I yelled, I heard the slightest bit of a popping sound. I thought that I might have broken a window. I checked them; not walking past them, allowing nobody to see that I was still outside. None of the windows were broken. I trailed off into eventually sitting on the first step of the emergency exit door right next to the main entrance. I was thinking about the bright light, possibly a star, in the sky that me and all of my friends had just seen the night before. After about seven and a half minutes of intense thinking, I had seen a huge light, right above me, glowing in the sky. It stayed there, after about five seconds of me seeing this gargantuan light, I had heard the pop again. Except this time, I noticed something about where it was. It was right were the bright light in the sky had appeared the night before. I finally came to a consensus of what it was, and I did not want to have. I got nervous quicker than I had ever before in my entire life. I noticed almost instantaneous departure of a near 300 kids from the building. Then, the light in the sky was getting closer to the school. “Too much happening at once” I thought, and later learned I had learned that I had thought this out loud. There was only one thought in my head at this point. Where in the world is Johanna, I had not seen him exit the building at all. A long five seconds before I saw Hail and Simon looking for me. By instinct, I yelled my name to them. They came running to me, as I did the same to them, saying they were some of the closest friends I had. I automatically asked the both of them if they knew at all where Johanna was. “I saw her running back into the bathroom screaming that she needed to hide somewhere. I know that before this, she had already gone to the bathroom. It was when she was coming back to class that she ran back in urgency of protection.” bravely stated Simon, I realization that I was about to run and go save her. I told Simon and Hail to go hide in the storage shed, which they did a near half second after I told them to. Then, I did what I needed to do, I turned around to the busted-open school door and went on my mission to save Johanna. I sprinted faster than I could have in a 100 meter dash in the direction of the girl’s bathroom. I heard a faint cry from the bathroom, leading me to run about twice as fast as before. I barged into the seven-stall bathroom. Then, I saw her, lying on the floor in a fierce and mixed state of sympathy and horror. The shock wave must have knocked her into a wall or something because I saw a small sized puddle of deep red blood on the floor. She was attempting yet at the same time failing to stop the bleeding. With no thought of it, I scooped her up and ran as if a wild untamed grizzly was after me. I darted for the storage shed, where I had practically ordered Hail and Simon to go to. When I was running, I saw my friend Stephanie sitting on the ground, terrified at what was happening. I approached her in a very quick yet sympathetic manner. “Stephanie, come with me, you will be safe, COME QUICKLY!” Almost robotically, she obeyed what I said and followed me to the storage shed, struggling yet accomplishing to sustain my pace. We got out the main exit and immediately headed for the storage shed. Somehow, We had three other kids tag on with us for shelter of some sort. These three kids were people I knew, but didn’t really talk to that often, Tiffany Hitron, Etana Eugaetce and Carter Dralliw. Hail and Simon opened the door for us and screamed “Come in here quick, we don’t have much-” Then, as we flew through the single door shed, Simon stared at Johanna, as he slowly bled out. “So, this is it. We have me, Simon, Tiffany, Etana, Carter, Natalie, Johanna who is injured, a crashed down school, and a storage shed.” Offered Hail to anyone that could have been listening to her at the time. Then, It finally hit us. Although we knew it was going to happen the entire time, it still came to us in shock. A bleary and exceptionally heated shock. At that point, I think everyone had known what happened, The huge light that we saw had just became... A supernova. We had all been silent, working on trying to use some of the enormous accumulation of toilet paper that the school must have put in the storage shed to bandage Johanna. We had succeeded after a solid 2 hours of hard, energy draining work to stop the bleeding on Her. The rest of us had somehow got out of the whole incident never mind alive, but unscaved by any measure except for a couple very minute bruises. We had to decide what to do. Suddenly, after a few moments, Johanna had taken us all by surprise. She stood up and told us all “Thank you guys so much, I probably would not have survived if you hadn't come into the bathroom and got me. You did an amazing job on the bandages, You are all the best!” We all said a casual thank you as if we had forgotten what had just happened about 5 minutes ago. “So, what should we do next?” I said, having no idea what was next to come for us. Shortly after this time, Stephanie questioned the fact that we had not gone back outside since the disaster had occurred. “Why don’t we go and see what’s left of the school and if there are any other survivors other than us.” she soon said, having high hopes on the chicken bites we had yesterday for the hot lunch. We all approached the door, all in different mindsets of what could possibly happen. Then, we opened the door to a place we could practically not even call home anymore. We saw what was before a place of learning and knowledge as a junkyard in the making. All of the trees and scenery had become a large amount of debris, floating and sitting in the air like a dad on Sunday night watching the game, almost motionless. Me, Stephanie and Johanna opted to trail off into the small woods surrounding our school, which could hardly be described as the woods anymore. The others, Simon, Hail, Tiffany, Etana and Carter, decided to see what they could make of the enormous pile of bricks, woods, and many other materials that had used to be our school. Both of the groups searched precariously around the area, thinking something was going either explode or collapse under us as we walked, step by step, away from our shelter. We met up halfway, having nobody find anything of any real use to us, and agreed to meet up at the shelter in thirty minutes. This is exactly what we did, but we retrieved a grand total of five decent bricks, a bin of uncooked chicken nuggets with about only 13 nuggets in it, and a raggedy towel we could use to stop bleeding for anyone else who might get a cut or gash. We chatted amongst ourselves for about fifteen minutes before we realized that we were hungry and thirsty. We needed something to be able to cook some of these chicken nuggets that we discovered recently. “It’s already 6:00 pm. If we want to have the energy to search or realistically do anything tomorrow, we should have an early bedtime tonight.” Johanna in a voice fit to belong to a dying potato begging for pity to live. Of course, I had called 20 rolls of toilet paper rolls almost instantaneously to use as a small, temporary bed for the night. There ended up being enough for everyone to do the same. We had to kind of huddle in together. When we did this, I had suddenly remembered when I went to go and save Johanna. I was her hero, she would have died if it were not for me. I starting thinking about how good friends that we all were. I had really started to become good friends with Tiffany, Etana, and Carter. We had all really gotten to know each other for what they were best at. We were able to form a team, we were all better at certain things. For example, Johanna was our smarts, Hail and Simon were our resource finders and I, of course, was the team leader, the person who made things happen. I was the person that if somebody needed help that they came to for it. I had never had this opportunity before, and I liked it. I liked being able to control my surroundings, to be able to know what was going to happen that day. Eventually, I stepped down from my leadership throne and gave it to Johanna because he was best fit for the job I soon realized. Although I am almost certain not to find another human being except for them of the entire planet, I wouldn't even want to. I have all the friends and family that I would ever need right here, living with me. I have my entire life sitting in front of me, glaring at me like a hawk would its prey; merciless. I almost felt like, for once, I was done. That I had nothing left to live for, nothing left to do. but without this devastation, I would have nothing to fill my life with excitement and joy. This is how I survived the devastation of the supernova in 2013. All I have left to say is this; at 2:00, go in the house; You will know what it means when the time comes...
